1st Sunday of Lent Gospel 9/3/25: The devil said to him, ‘If you are the Son of God, tell this stone to turn into a loaf.’ But Jesus replied, ‘Scripture says: Man does not live on bread alone.’ (Lk. 4:3)
*** Jesus is the Son of God and He turns bread into His body and blood to nurture our souls. Our soul needs the Words of God and Jesus’ body and blood so that we can be in union with God. Jesus is intended to establish the sacrament of Eucharist for us that allows us to receive His body and blood as the profession of our faith in Jesus.
Chúa Nhật tuần Nhất mùa Chay, Phúc Âm: Quỷ nói với Người: “Nếu ông là Con Thiên Chúa thì truyền cho hòn đá này hoá bánh đi!” Nhưng Đức Giê-su đáp lại: “Đã có lời chép rằng: Người ta sống không chỉ nhờ cơm bánh.” (Lc. 4:3)
*** Đức Giêsu là con Thiên Chúa và Ngài hóa bánh thành mình và máu của Ngài để nuôi dưỡng linh hồn ta. Linh hồn ta cần lời Chúa và mình và máu của Ngài để được hiệp nhất với Thiên Chúa. Tâm ý của Đức Giêsu thiết lập bí tích thánh thể cho ta để ta được lãnh nhận mình và máu của Ngài như thề hứa đức tin trong Đức Giêsu.
